FAQ
Paediatric Occupational therapy (OT for kids) helps children develop the skills they need for daily activities and participation in their environments. This includes improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, social skills, and self-care abilities, enabling children to achieve independence and success in their daily lives.
Read more about paediatric occupational therapy here.
During your first session with us, your occupational therapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your child's abilities, needs, and goals. This may include observing your child, discussing their developmental history, and identifying specific areas for intervention. A personalised OT therapy plan will then be developed and discussed with you.
The frequency of kids OT sessions depends on your child's individual needs and goals. Typically, sessions are scheduled once or twice a week, but this can vary. Your occupational therapist will discuss the recommended frequency with you during your first appointment.
Yes, parents and caregivers are more than welcome to be involved in their child's OT sessions. Your participation can provide valuable insights and help reinforce therapy goals at home. However, there may be times when your therapist may need one-on-one time with your child (with parent’s consent / agreement).
Yes, we offer group therapy sessions that focus on social skills, play skills, and other developmental areas. Group OT for kids provides an opportunity for children to interact with peers and practice skills in a supportive, structured environment.
Please note that while group programs and joint sessions with other professionals are available, service delivery may vary depending on your child’s therapy needs.
Carousel's team of occupational therapists are trained in a wide range of therapeutic techniques and approaches. If your child has specific needs not listed in our services, please contact us to discuss how we can tailor our approach to meet your child's unique requirements. We are committed to finding the right treatment through personalised OT for kids!
